Soothsayer Reid has been looking into his crystal ball again to see the future. Last January, when he looked, he foresaw that we should give unanimous support to General Petraeus, his plan, and sending more troops to Iraq. Now he has looked again and seen that the plan is a failure, before it has hardly been attempted, contrary to the evidence coming from Iraq by such opponents of the war as reporters for the New York Times. It appears that when he looked in his crystal ball, one time it was dingy. We are left with the question, which time was Soothsayer Reid’s vision dingy, when he affirmed the plan or when he declared the plan a failure?
